Inga Swearingen’s Latest is a Musical Rainbow

Inga Swearingen is one of my favorite singers. Her soothing folk jazz voice has a unique sultry sophistication that envelops you like warm chocolate. In her latest release, First Rain, Inga explores an eclectic range of musical territories that combine jazz standards and bossa nova grooves with folk interpretations in fun time signatures. Among the standards are her unique versions of Heart and Soul, Skylark, and Blackbird and one of my favorites is the last track, Ample, a beautiful song with strings.
Collaborating with Inga are some fine musicians including electric & acoustic guitar wunderkinds Jeff Miley and Larry Koonse, stand-up bassists Darek Oles and Dylan Johnson, percussionists Brian Kilgore and Darrell Voss, and her sister Britta singing harmonies and beautiful string overlays by Ken Hustad and Brynn Albanese,
First Rain is a perfect addition to your jazz collection.
