40 Beached Whales Saved by Humans
A spontaneous act of compassion by over 500 people from holiday makers to DOC workers all helped in a day long rescue saving the lives of 40 beached whales. 63 pilot whales beached themselves on the Coromandel in New Zealands North island and the 40 they were able to save were refloated into deep water.
