Here’s a great example of corporate social responsibility in action…

It all began when Liberty Mutual ran a TV commercial about people doing things for strangers. The response was truly overwhelming. Thousands of emails and letters from people all over the country thanking them.

They thought, if one TV spot could get people thinking and talking about responsibility, imagine what could happen if they went a step further. So they created a series of short films, and this website is the result offering an exploration of what it means to do the right thing.

“Liberty Mutual believes that the more people think and talk about responsibility, and even debate what it means, the more it can affect how we live our daily lives. And perhaps, in this small way, together, we can make the world just a little better.”

Jeff - I wish you well with your blog. It’s a great idea.

One of the most important developments in today’s business world is the rise of ethical/socially responsible investing. It’s happening around the world.

I got interested in ethical investing some forty years ago as I believed that when we invest in a company we share in the responsibility for the activities of the company as well as participate in the outcomes of the company’s activities. Therefore anyone valuing their personal or spiritual growth has to take these things into account when investing.

I also believe that if everyone does invest according to their personal values, then, since so many of core values are alike — and are supportive of higher ideals — that in the long run, only companies employing these higher values will truly prosper. And there is proof this is now occurring.

For anyone interested I have a site that covers the latest global news and research on ethical investing. It’s at http://investingforthesoul.com/

    Best wishes, Ron Robins
