Just received this info on a new film, Money and Life, and want to share it with you because of its importance to this moment in our evolution. It is a continuation of the thinking of Charles Eisenstein’s Sacred Economics…

The producer and director of Money & Life, Katie Teague, is seeking $50,000 to complete this important documentary that demystifies and questions the broken institution of money. No small undertaking. The heart of her message is that debt creates scarcity and her film is an empowering wake up call to end the vicious cycle and liberate us and money from its capitalist constraints so we can celebrate abundance instead and co-create a system that serves people and the planet. And, as you can see, through her interviews, she is touching on the soul of the issue with intelligence and compassion.

“My hope is that we can create an economy where we can do what we love, where we can be rewarded for doing what we love,” Teague said. “It’s idealistic, but it’s only limited by saying it’s impossible. The movie shows that money is a human artifact. It doesn’t grow on trees or fall from the sky. “We created it, and over time it’s changed. We are living in a time of significant shift. Time to THRIVE

It’s here! Foster Gamble’s new paradigm film, THRIVE. Like NPD, this is a solutions oriented project. What makes this film so interesting is that it was produced by a member of the P&G empire and member of the 1% who has worked to make the company better and used his personal funds to make this powerful film. He is a great example for other legacy family members of other large companies.

Before you watch it, you may want to enjoy the interview with Foster conducted by Worldwide Tipping Point. The info on that interview and a link to view the film follow. My sense is that this fiim will do as well or better than the surprise hit What the Bleep a few years back and the great new online film distribution platform it is available on, Play It Forward, offers you the opportunity to enjoy the film and pass it along as a gift to friends you feel would really enjoy it. After spending 8 years and millions of dollars to create the documentary THRIVE: What on Earth Will It Take? I am honored to have Foster Gamble on Worldwide Tipping Point today in what I believe is his first public interview since the film’s release!

So what is this THRIVE film all about? It will become quickly evident in this interview what THRIVE is hear to say, and I encourage you to check out our dialogue (and the movie) straight away!

Interestingly, Foster Gamble is a direct descendent of the Proctor & Gamble empire and I ask him some pretty pointed questions regarding his unbiased ability to shine a light on the unsustainable nature of our financial systems while obviously coming from a ‘financially elite’ family as described in the film…and his response is fascinating!

THRIVE weaves all sorts of topics, including tangible evidence of extraterrestrial life, the meaning of crop circles, and the possibility of unlimited sources of clean, non-combustible energy being accessible right now…a truth that would completely revolutionize the way human beings live on Planet Earth!

I ask Foster about his decision to include all these seemingly unrelated topics, and how this all relates to a world where we can all thrive. Again, his answers are fascinating.

In the end I find THRIVE to be a timely and relevant film, and a critically important artifact for our times. While I don’t expect all of you to agree with everything in the movie (as I am sure it will be controversial), I believe it is worth checking out and listening to our interview because THRIVE’s perspective certainly provides a few important things to consider.

In the end, it is up to ALL of us to decide how we can reach the Tipping Point and thrive together in our world…and I am looking forward to all your feedback!

FEMME Looks at The Healing Power of the Feminine

In a recent post, we covered the films of French filmmaker Emmanuel Itier. His latest project, FEMME: Women Healing the World, carries a critical message for our time: Unless we rebalance the feminine in the world and in ourselves, our children may not have a future that will support them.

As we wrote in out last post on his films, Emmanuel calls what has taken place historically, the “castration of the feminine” by and in the masculine. “For the past 10,000 years. we have been the victims of a controlling masculine dominated system that directed women away from their power and positions of power and, at the same time, also killed the feminine in the head and hearts of men and turned them into killers rather than lovers.”

To help reconcile this dangerous historical split, Emmanuel is completing production of his next film, Femme: Women Healing the World featuring visionary women including Nobel Peace Prize Winners Shirin Ebadi and Mairead Maguire, Barbara Marx Hubbard, Riane Eisler, Jean Houston, Jean Shinoda Bolen, and Marianne Williamson. And, Yoko Ono contributed a song for the film.

“I have been called to produce my trilogy of Invocation, Femme and the last, We Come in Peace: A Re-Evolution of Economics and Politics that integrates the themes of oneness and the reunion of the feminine and masculine in all of us and applies this union to a vision of a transcended economics and politics in action.”

FEMME will be completed in Spring 2012. Wonderland Entertainment Group is currently raising $US 100,000 to complete the film. Since 70% of the audience for Documentaries is feminine, I believe FEMME will easily find its audience and become a hit. I will keep NPD subscribers updated on the films journey to the screen.

Help Produce Man Child

First, thank you from the bottom of my heart for the wonderful comments I received from a group of passionate subscribers. It’s great to know that NPD means so much to you and made my day and year.

As many of you know, I love the Kickstarter site and every once in a while will share a project that still needs funding to rech its goal. Such is the case with Man Child, a film about a teen basketball star’s struggle to make it. The filmmakers pitch is one of the most creative I’ve seen and he is appears ready to break through with this film. Have a look and if you like what you see and want to help produce Man Child, consider making a contribution which will only be used if all the money is raised. At this moment, there are 7 days to go and almost $70,000 of the $115,000 budget has been raised.

Time to Thrive

Thanks to Foster Gamble, the socially responsible scion of the Proctor and Gamble family, a powerful and exciting film will be arriving 11-11-11. Foster is a shining example of consciousness, creativity and intelligence in the service of life and has been passionately producing this catalytic film for years. Thrive connects the dots of the old and new paradigms and presents actions humanity can and is taking to save itself from itself. As biologist Francisco Varela suggested, if a system is sick connect more of itself to itself. Thrive appears to offer useful information about our world condition, the players and solutions that may help us put the brakes on the ecocide we find ourselves in the midst of. Each of us holds a piece of the puzzle that is self-assembling to co-create a world that works for everyone.

Revelations of a Conscious Film Producer

At 15, as he sat in an algebra math class watching his teacher demonstrate an equation, Emmanuel Itier converted the numbers to words in his head that formed a poem. That night he had a dream about the poem that gave birth to his existential script, The Cage, about a man’s mid-life crisis. He thought to himself that he should turn it into a film and recruited a few friends, one of whom had a video camera to shoot the short film in 24 hours. He showed the dark film with lots of blood to his father who was a doctor and mother, a teacher. After watching it they said “Emmanuel, you’re very creative and it looks like you won’t become a doctor or teacher, so go do what you are called to do.”

After The Cage, Emmanuel produced a few other short films and upon graduating high school he spent a week in film class at a local college in Paris and immediately sensed he could do better on his own. He left and got a job in sales for a cable company while simultaneously interning for production companies.

About this time, he met an American flight attendant, a relationship developed and they were married and moved to US in 1988. Upon arriving in Hollywood, Emmanuel spoke no English, nor had he any real credentials ,so he did odd jobs until he began teaching French to Hollywood film executives one of whom, Peter Hoffman, the CFO of Carolco, the production company responsible for Rambo, Basic Instinct and other action films, befriended and mentored him. He learned the ropes by observing and reading scripts and self-trained to become a producer. During his teaching days, a Paris friend contacted him and asked if would like to be a US correspondent for a French film magazine to which he said yes.

Emmanuel went on to produce ten films and direct three, many of which were low budget horror films made because the Hollywood financiers were essentially “unconscious, making films for unconscious audiences”.

After ten years, Emmanuel remarried, had his first child, and had a second revelation. He heard a voice say “You need to do something with your life”

A few minutes later, the idea of oneness popped into his mind and his first conscious film, Invocation was born. Invocation answers the question, “What’s the meaning of existence?” In his mind, Emmanuel heard narration by Sharon Stone and pursued her for 3 years. When they finally met, she read the script and told him that the film was very important and should be seen by every member of Congress and screened at the Smithsonian. When he told her he had no money left, she told him that was not a problem and that she would be honored to narrate. She became the Executive Producer and will share in any profits.

The film has been screened at twenty festivals winning six awards and has received great feedback from luminaries including director Oliver Stone and Nobel Laureate Desmond Tutu both of whom appear in the film.

While watching his engaging and important film, I was taken on an journey through the minds of a wonderful group of people from many walks of life who illuminated many areas of great interest to me and NPD readers including peace, mystery, awakening, the material and spiritual, science and religion, consciousness and non-locality, I and We, and silence.

Among the many powerful quotes in the film is this one: The terrorism of the strong brings about the terrorism of the weak. And it’s opposite may well be true. The peacefulness of the strong could bring about the peacefulness of the weak. It’s an idea whose time has come. The underlying message of this film is that we must come to see the divine everywhere and in everyone we see for we and life are one seamless whole however it may look and we may then, finally, realize the peace we seek in ourselves and the world.

“So far, we haven’t come far in solving our deeper cultural problems but we can do a lot”, says Itier, if, we focus on action rather than what’s wrong. The way I see it, humanity is not failing but is rather reinventing itself. There’s been far too much talking and thinking. Many more of us need to put the idea of peace into action and actually become it.
